I do not accept medical insurance. Here's why...
Many insurance companies require that counselors submit a mental health diagnosis in order to provide treatment. In some cases, diagnosis in a medical record may have long-lasting negative impacts on the client. Certain diagnoses may not be covered under the insurance plan, may compromise employability, and/or become a lifelong component of one’s medical records.
It is for these reasons I choose not to accept insurance and instead offer a number of sliding scale and scholarship options for those experiencing economic hardship. Superbills can be accessed via the client portal which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company before you schedule.
